The AAS NSW division is inviting you to the next technical talk by the NSW EPA, which is as part of the public consultation for the NSW EPA’s draft Construction Noise Guideline.
Paul Maddock, Unit Head, Technical Advice Noise Unit, NSW Environment Protection Authority
Chris Marsh, Senior Technical Advisor, Technical Advice Noise Unit, NSW Environment Protection Authority
Chris and Paul work in the Technical Advice Noise Unit and provide technical expertise to support core EPA regulatory and advisory functions including policy and programs to manage noise pollution.
The public consultation for the NSW EPA’s draft Construction Noise Guideline closes on 15 March 2021. When finalised, the Construction Noise Guideline will replace the Interim Construction Noise Guideline.
The updated guideline improves and modernises the Interim Construction Noise Guideline. The main principles, processes and underlying philosophy of the existing policy remain unchanged.
The draft Guideline provides a robust framework for assessing and managing noise from major construction projects regulated by the EPA and sets out clear expectations to hold proponents of those construction projects to account for environmental performance.
The EPA has prepared a technical talk to present some of the key aspects of the draft Guideline to the acoustic consulting industry. The talk will cover the draft Guideline’s principles and objectives, the regulatory context and framework in addition to the technical application and guidance on noise management and expectations for reporting.
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.
The event will be accessible online to registered AAS members, details below:
