50th Annual General Meeting & Special Resolution

Notice is hereby given that the 50th Annual General Meeting of the Australian Acoustical Society will be held at a time TBA on Thursday, 28th January 2021, in the Mirror Room, Queensland Cricketers Club, Gabba Towers, 411 Vulture St, East Brisbane QLD 4169.

The event will be broadcast online, with access details to be provided to registrants.

To register, follow these 2 steps:

  2. Your registration will then be 'Registered pending checkout' - click the shopping cart icon (top right of window) and then 'Submit Order' to process and finalise.

4.1 RECEIPT OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

To receive and consider the financial statements for the year ending 30 June 2020, and the reports of the Council and the Auditor.

An electronic copy of the Financial Accounts for 2019-2020 are can be viewed and/or downloaded from the AAS website Members Area.

4.2 APPOINTMENT OF AUDITOR

To appoint an Auditor for 2020-2021 at a fee to be decided by Federal Council.

5.0 ANNOUNCEMENT OF 2020 RESEARCH GRANT RECIPIENT/S

6.0 ANNOUNCEMENT OF 2020 EDUCATION GRANT RECIPIENT/S

7.0 SPECIAL RESOLUTION; The modernisation of the governing documents of the AAS

The following special resolution will be proposed at the meeting:

Resolution: “THAT the Australian Acoustical Society replaces its current Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association, and the By-Laws in their entirety, and replace them with the Constitution and By-Laws that accompanied the notice of meeting for the meeting at which this resolution was considered.”

The proposed Constitution, By Laws and Explanatory Notes can be downloaded and viewed via the Member portal here

Members with voting rights present will be required to vote on this resolution.  Online voting will be available for members with voting rights unable to attend the meeting in person or nominate a proxy via the AAS website.  Information on how to cast your vote online prior to the meeting will be sent out to members 11th-18th January 2021.
